Who’s listening, and from where
A map, a country ranking, and a breakdown of what your listeners use to listen. On the Pro plan and up.
Countries
The ranking tells you how many countries you reached over the period, and how many listens couldn’t be located. The number is shown, not hidden.
Apps
Apple Podcasts, Overcast, a web browser: you see what people listen with, and so where your listing is worth polishing.
Devices
Phone or computer, with the split. That’s what decides which layout you choose for your catalog.
Episodes
The most listened-to over the period, and each podcast’s share when you have more than one.
What the number is worth
A chart is useless if you don’t know what it counts. This one counts listens started by someone.
Counted properly
Two figures, two sources. A play is someone starting the episode in your site’s player. A download is an app such as Apple Podcasts or Overcast fetching an episode hosted on Zekast: it is counted once per listener, per episode and per day, robots left out. Spotify and YouTube keep their own copy of your episodes, so their listens stay in their own statistics.
Anonymous on arrival
The IP address and browser are reduced to a hash the moment the request arrives, and that hash changes every day. The counting is handled by Zekast; your site stays just a website.
