Comment
Drag across the waveform to grab a passage (a single point or a range) and write. Every note stays pinned to the exact second.
Anchored, or not
A note targets a passage, or the whole episode when the remark is general. And you hand it to someone: it becomes a task, under the name of the person who has to do it.
Read as you listen
The episode gets transcribed right from Review. The current passage is highlighted and the text scrolls along: your eye catches what your ear would only have noticed on the third listen.
Search for a word
“He says the same thing twice somewhere in the middle”: type the word, and Review counts the occurrences and takes you from one to the next. Click a sentence and the audio jumps to it.
Compare
Review aligns two versions and draws, above the waveform, what was cut, added or moved. The client knows where to listen.
Every upload is kept
A new upload creates a version; the old one stays in place, with its own markers.
What’s still open
An unresolved marker on an earlier version stays visible until someone takes care of it.

The big file stays put
Review reads it from your folder. Your connection is for opening a page, not for sending a one-gigabyte file around twice.
A working copy
Review makes a private copy it controls: private link, reviewers without an account, timestamped comments. Your original file stays untouched in your folder.
Kept apart from the feed
This copy is what keeps your timecodes valid, and it’s what ensures nothing under review ever reaches your RSS feed. Publishing remains a separate step, in Zekast.
And the notes go back to the original folder.

The folder keeps a single up-to-date sheet, instead of piling up “_v2_final_final” files.

Notes for the editor and notes for the client become two separate files. The standard download is still there, in your software’s format.

Who can do what
Read-only, comment or admin, plus their role, so that “ask Marc” actually means something. For one episode, or a whole project.

Mentions, reactions, reply threads, notifications for anything new: it all stays in the same place as the audio.
Approve
An overview sorts what’s waiting on the studio, what’s waiting on reviewers and what’s ready. Approval is a single button, and approved audio stays locked until someone withdraws the approval.

Frequently asked questions
Do my reviewers need to create an account?
No. They get a private link by email and comment right from their browser. You choose their access level: read-only, comment or admin.
Is it the published file that gets reviewed?
No. It’s a dedicated, private working file, separate from the published episode. That’s what keeps your timecodes valid: re-uploading a corrected version doesn’t break the comments.
How does the Drive or Dropbox connection work?
You authorize Zekast once, from the Storage tab. Review only sees the files you point it to and the documents it created itself; it doesn’t browse your Drive. The connection belongs to your license: it works for all your sites, with no need to set it up again.
Does it work with my editing software?
Yes. Comments export as markers for Audacity, REAPER and Adobe Audition, or as a generic CSV (Pro Tools via EdiMarker, Logic, etc.). Each note lands on the right timecode in your edit, and can be dropped straight into your Drive or Dropbox folder.
Is transcription included?
Reading, searching and navigating the text are included. Transcribing a file uses Zekast transcription tokens, as in the rest of the product, and you see the cost before you start. You can also attach a transcript you already have (SRT, VTT or JSON).
Which plan includes it?
Zekast Review is free in the Studio plan. On every other plan (Free, Starter, Pro), it’s an add-on at €15/month or €144/year that you add in one click.
